2014 Pirate Football Season Information

Welcome to Pirate football. If you’re a returning player, welcome back. If you’re new to EYSA then welcome aboard. We are so excited for this upcoming football season. Here are important dates, times and information for you and your player.

 

Camp will be Monday-Thursday from 6-8:30’ish pm. Each night we will have some form of a snack for the players and on Thursday we will have a hotdog BBQ for the players and coaches. You are more than welcome to stay and watch during camp. We only ask that you and any siblings please stay off the field. The “green” is for players only. You may sit anywhere on the track or in the bleachers. Bathrooms are located next to the bleachers on the west end of the field.

 

If you need to register for football please take a moment to fill out the registration form and make a payment. A minimum payment of $55 is required and is not refundable. Your child will need to be sized for a jersey. Renegade B&H Sports is here to do this on Monday. Jerseys are being ordered the next day to ensure we get them by the first game. If your child is not sized by this time, we cannot guarantee that their jersey will be here by the first game.

 

We will be selling some Pirate apparel on Monday and will have order forms available all week. Order forms are due on Friday, July 25th at equipment checkout. The second order will be due at the end of the first week of practice to your team manager. All payments are due at time of order. There are no refunds on apparel.

 

Equipment checkout will be on Friday, July 25th at the following times. You must be paid in full in order to receive your equipment. If you have multiple players feel free to bring them all to any of your scheduled times. Returning players please bring your football bag from last year to put your equipment in.

                             Kindergarten/1st grade: 5:00 pm               2ND grade: 5:30pm               3rd grade: 6:00pm

                             4th grade: 6:30pm                                         5th grade: 7:00 pm               6th grade: 7:30p

                                  7th grade: 8:00 pm                                                      8th grade: 8:30 pm

 

You will need to turn in these forms to the team manager during the first week of practice.

  • Copy of current xcel bill
  • Copy of players birth certificate
  • Copy of this year’s school registration or last year’s report card
  • Copy of current physical/sports physical.
    • Doctors Express in Englewood is open 7 days a week, 8am-8pm and does sports physicals for $25. They are located near the Civic Center next to Tokyo Joe’s.

 

You will need to provide the following items for your player for the season.

  • Colored mouth piece…any color but clear. You’ll want to get a few for the season. Kids chew them up and lose them very easily. If a player does not have one, they will not be playing or practicing.
  • Football cleats
  • Black game socks
  • Protective cup
  • Football pants…black. EYSA is no longer providing pants. We will sell our stock at equipment checkout, while supplies last. Youth sizes $10, Adult $15. These are great pants with the pads already inside them.
  • Water bottle for practice and games

 

The following is a list of where and when practice will be held for each team. Practice begins on August 11th. Games will be held mostly on Saturdays, possibly some Friday nights. Games begin on Sept. 6th. Schedules will be available by the team managers as soon as they are posted. Here is the practice schedule and locations:

 

K-1st  at Denny Miller on T, TH from 5:30-7 and possibly Fridays from 5:30-7

2nd at Denny Miller on T, W, F from 5-7                                        

3rd at Denny Miller on T, W, F from 5-7 and possibly Saturday

4th at Denny Miller on T, TH, F from 5-7

5th at EMS on T, TH, F from 5-7, Sat. 8:30-10:30am. After 1st game T, TH, F from 5-6:30 and NO Sat.

6th at EMS on T, TH, F from 5-7, Sat. 8:30-10:30am. After 1st game T, TH, F from 5-6:30 and NO Sat.

7th at EMS on M,W, TH from 5-7, Sat. 9-1. After 1st game NO Sat.

8th at EMS on M, W, F from 5-7, Sat. 8-10am. After 1st game NO Sat.

 

ALL PLAYERS MUST BE AT OUR SCHEDULED WEIGH IN- GRADES 2-8

We will hold weigh-ins at Dicks Sporting Goods store at South Glen Mall. University and Arapahoe Rd on MONDAY, AUGUST 25th at 6pm. Please plan ahead and make sure that your player is there for this very important mandatory date.
